Your TV Has 4K. Your Living Room Has One Overhead Bulb.
You spent $6 on the rental. You made the popcorn. You found the perfect spot on the couch.
Then you hit play, and the ceiling light is glaring off the screen.
So you turn it off β and now it’s pitch black and you’re tripping over the coffee table
every time you pause for a refill.
Real theaters have bias lighting for a reason. Your apartment could too β
if you were allowed to touch the wiring.
You don’t need to touch the wiring. $35.99, 10 minutes, peel-and-stick.
The Theater Formula, Minus the Contractor.
5M RGB LED Strip Γ 1
Stick it behind your TV. 16 million colors + true warm white. The bias lighting that makes movies feel cinematic β and reduces eye strain.
Smart WiFi Plug β 16A, Energy Monitoring Γ 1
Plug your TV or soundbar in. Now it joins your scenes and voice commands.
IR Remote Blaster Γ 1
Controls your TV, AC, and most devices with an infrared remote β from your phone or by voice. No more hunting for three remotes.
Two Ways to Use It.
Mode A β “One-Tap Movie Mode”
Tap once in the app β LED strip fades to warm amber at 20%,
TV powers on via the IR blaster, AC sets to a comfortable temperature.
That’s the whole routine. Every movie night, one tap.
Mode B β “Voice Control”
“Alexa, movie time.”
Same scene, hands-free. Works with Alexa and Google Home.
Pause the movie, ask for brighter light to find the remote,
dim it back down β all by voice.
What You’ll Need (check before you buy)
β You do NOT need: a hub Β· an electrician Β· drilling Β· your landlord’s permission
Set Up in 10 Minutes.
Clean the back of your TV, peel the adhesive, run the strip along the edges. Plug into USB or the included adapter.
Strip, plug, and IR blaster β each pairs the same way: tap “+”, enter WiFi password, name it.
Point your TV remote at the blaster, press power β it learns. Repeat for your AC remote. Most brands are also in the built-in database.
One scene: LED β warm amber 20%, TV β on, AC β 72Β°F. Save it to your home screen. Tap it every Friday night.
Something Not Working? Start Here.
LED strip won’t stick to my TV
Clean the surface with rubbing alcohol and let it dry fully. TV backs collect dust that kills adhesive. Still loose? Use the included clips.
IR blaster doesn’t control my TV
Place it with line-of-sight to your TV’s IR receiver (usually the bottom edge). Check the app’s brand database first β manual learning is the backup.
Colors look washed out
Run the strip at 20-40% brightness for movies. Full brightness looks impressive in photos but kills the cinematic mood.
Strip is too long for my TV
Cut it at the marked copper dots (every few inches) with regular scissors. Only cut on the marks.
LED Strips Are Everywhere. Why This Kit?
- π¦ Anyone sells you a strip. We sell you the scene. The exact brightness, color temperature, and automation settings that work for movie nights β tested, documented, included.
- π§ͺ We verified the IR blaster actually learns real remotes. Cheap ones fail on many TV brands. This one passed our tests.
- π¬ Support from someone who’s set this up. “My strip flickers on certain colors” β we’ve seen it, we know the fix.
- π 45-day returns. Amazon gives you 30. Movie night is Friday β if it doesn’t wow you, send it back.
Questions Renters Ask Us
Will the adhesive damage my TV or wall?
No. It’s the same removable adhesive as cable clips. Peels off clean from TVs and furniture. On painted walls it removes cleanly from most smooth surfaces β if your paint is old or flaking, test a corner first.
Can it sync with what’s on screen?
Not directly (that requires camera-based systems costing $100+). But the music-sync mode reacts to audio, and manual scenes cover 95% of the experience.
Does it work with my smart TV’s apps?
The IR blaster controls power, volume, and inputs on any TV that uses an infrared remote β smart or not. App navigation still uses your original remote or phone.
What happens when I move?
Peel the strip off (adhesive removes cleanly from TV backs), unplug everything, pack it flat. Your theater moves with you.
Can I add more strips later?
Yes. Add one behind the couch, along shelves, under cabinets β they all join the same app and scenes.
Friday Night. One Tap. Theater Mode.
